Doc Maria Joins The Chicago School of Professional Psychology Faculty

chicago-school-wordsDr. Maria Malayter joins The Chicago School of Professional Psychology Business Psychology full time faculty at their Chicago campus.  In this role, she will teach in the MA of Industrial and Organizational Psychology, PhD in Organizational Leadership and PhD in Business Psychology.   Doc Maria will also serve as dissertation chair to students as they build their doctoral research.   In addition to the local teaching, she will co-lead study abroad trips to study business psychology in other countries.  In 2016, she will travel with a class of graduate students to China.

Her experience brings her to this position as she has served as a higher education and business professional with a unique blend of over 26 years’ of administration, instruction, organizational consulting and business experience.   She is an organizational development leader who has professional experience in various environments such as Fortune 500 companies, educational institutions, community programs, government, nonprofits and the military.   Specifically, Dr. Malayter worked as a leadership consultant for a national women’s nonprofit, as a facilitator and director contracting with the U.S. Navy in training and organizational development, as an assistant professor, assistant dean and director at National Louis University, as a faculty coordinator at Webster University, and as a regional market manager over consultative sales at the Apollo Education Group.

She has been teaching in the college classroom and online for over 26 years at 10+ different institutions. Dr. Malayter is a professional speaker, consultant and coach in her own private company and through the Do What You Love Foundation, a 501©3 public charity she created in 2010. She graduated from Walden University with a Ph.D. in Applied Management and Decision Science with a specialization in Leadership and Organizational Change and a M.A. in Organizational Consulting from Ball State University.  Beyond her degrees, Dr. Malayter is a Certified Worksite Wellness Specialist and keeps her wellness a priority through bicycling almost every day through all seasons.
